At the Cross

"Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we will also live with him. For we know that since Christ was raised from the dead, he cannot die again; death no longer has mastery over him. The death he died, he died to sin once for all; but the life he lives, he lives to God. In the same way, count yourselves dead to sin but alive to God in Christ Jesus."  Romans 6:8-11 If you've enjoyed your time here at Leaving A Legacy, please take a moment to like us on Facebook or through Networked Blogs. Turn the Ordinary Around

In the early morning hours the sun breaks through the night...... exploding dawn with lemon yellows, water melon reds, and beautiful orange. The birds come out of their nests, singing with joy, as they glide across the sky, with grace and ease. As the day unfolds before us, my daughter's beautiful green eyes meet me at the top of the stairs. My son's laughter floats throughout the house as I smell the aroma of bacon being prepared in the kitchen. Our Sunday morning ritual unwraps as I see my husband preparing breakfast in the kitchen for his family. Stepping out into the church parking lot, the crisp morning air brings a chill to my spine. I breath in deep, everything smells so clean, so fresh, so new. Walking along the stone path, the beautiful flowers great the seekers of good and truth. ... read more

How Many Times Will You Say No To God?

In our Sunday service yesterday our pastor, challenged us to obey the call of God in our lives. He spoke about Moses and the burning bush. The scripture reference was Exodus 3:-4:20. This passage paints the picture of Moses' conversation with God. In Exodus 3:7a, 10 God asks Moses to play the role of a leader in rescuing His people from the Egyptians."The Lord said, 'I have indeed seen the misery of my people in Egypt...So, now go. I am sending you to Pharaoh to bring my people the Israelites out of Egypt.'" Once God states His request, we can see that Moses is afraid about what he is being asked to do. In fear, how many times does Moses refuse God? Not once, not twice, not three times, but FOUR times! Finally after four times, God states that He will send Aaron to speak  for him. Moses ... read more

Fishers of Men

This picture was taken last weekend after my husband took my son fishing. He was so proud of the fish he caught. He couldn't stop talking about it. Taking time with our children is so important. I love the following quote by Charles Swindoll, "Each day of our lives we make deposits in the memory banks of our children. ". Create times with your children where memories are made and life lessons are taught. The most important thing you can teach them is to be a follower of Jesus, and to do His will.  Teach them also to love, to serve, to be respectful, to be compassionate, to be strong in hard times, to be faithful. So much can be learned through everyday activities and special moments alike.  Time goes by in the blink of an eye. We think we can always put it off till tomorrow. Yet, we are ... read more

A New Creation

I love daffodils, they're one of my favorite flowers. They remind me of Spring and the fresh morning air. They also remind me of God's promises, how they are new every morning. How blessed we are to be a new creation in Him, all because of His love for us and sending His son to die on the cross for our sins. As I was writing this, the hymn "Great is the Faithfulness, "  came to my mind. Take a moment to pause the music on the sidebar, and listen to this song as you offer praise and worship to the Lord. Every since my children have been little I have had a passion for photography. Anywhere they went you could find me right by their side with camera in hand.
