In the early morning hours the sun breaks through the night…… exploding dawn with lemon yellows, water melon reds, and beautiful orange. The birds come out of their nests, singing with joy, as they glide across the sky, with grace and ease.
As the day unfolds before us, my daughter’s beautiful green eyes meet me at the top of the stairs. My son’s laughter floats throughout the house as I smell the aroma of bacon being prepared in the kitchen. Our Sunday morning ritual unwraps as I see my husband preparing breakfast in the kitchen for his family.
Stepping out into the church parking lot, the crisp morning air brings a chill to my spine. I breath in deep, everything smells so clean, so fresh, so new. Walking along the stone path, the beautiful flowers great the seekers of good and truth. Welcoming smiles, say hello, as we step through the doors. We have found home, a haven. The pipe organ sings songs of praise. Our knees bow at the wooded altar. The same altar I have known since I was thirteen. A lifetime has happened since then. So much to be thankful for, so many blessings granted, so many gifts given.
So many gifts that we take for granted. The rising of the sun, the greeting of a new day, the comfort of family and home. The most treasured, is the ability to worship our true Gift, offering Him praise for what He has done. Open your eyes wide, and you will find it. In every minute of every day, turn the ordinary around, and you will find the gifts that have been there all along.

Just beautiful Shari. There are sweet blessings all around us. We need to open our eyes and look for them.
What a great reminder of how much we take for granted. The Lord gifts us and we don’t even notice. Why? For me, I get caught up in myself, my routine, my family and miss Him. Shoot – sometimes I think I even get caught up in church and miss Him. Lord – forgive me! Thankful to be here from 5MF.
Such a gift to have this kind of place to call home for worship. Love all the old photos from your ancestral tree. We have been doing a bit of digging in our own tree. And oh, the treasure we have found! Thanks for visiting me today.
