There are times in my life when I feel completely overwhelmed. Some days I feel as if my head is barely above water and I keep bobbing up and down trying to stay afloat. I splash vigorously trying to get to safety and it seems the harder I splash, the deeper I sink. Then it happens..... I turn around in the water and I see him, standing right next to me. The Father, holding out his hands, just waiting for me to come to Him. In tears I grab His hands and He tells me, "My child, I was right here all along." Does this ever happen to you? Like me, do you ever get too busy trying to solve your problems on your own that you miss the Father standing right next to you, just waiting for you to surrender to Him? When I am able to rest in His presence, I find my whole outlook on life ... read more
The Two Most Important Things at Christmas (Christmas Blessing 2015)
It seems like the Christmas season comes upon us so quickly. Before you know it, you blink, and it has gone from January to December in a flash. As a stage IV breast cancer survivor Christmas takes on a new meaning to me. It makes me slow down and purposefully take in each moment and savor every second. As my family and I decorated for Christmas tonight, it made me stop and think about what the two most important things are at Christmas. 1.The most important thing about Christmas is Christ. He is the real reason we celebrate this season. It's because God decided to send His son down to earth in human form, born to a virgin, to one day save the world. It's the beginning of the solution to rescue mankind from it's transgressions. It's the answer to the problem that was created ... read more
Focus ~ One Word 2015
I have been quiet around here lately. These last two years have been challenging for me. These past 24 months have been filled with... My mother being diagnosed with Alzheimer's. Selling her home and moving her into and assisted living facility. Dealing with a stage IV breast cancer diagnosis and all the uncertainty that it brings. Side affects of chemotherapy. Financial difficulties. Family difficulties. Struggles in relationships. The fear of not being good enough. Put all of these things together and it does not make for a very good combination. The last point, the fear of not being good enough, is what has really put a halt to my writing. I went to a writers conference in 2013, my first conference actually. The writers conference was wonderful. I made new ... read more

It was Monday August 4th, 2003. ... read more

A Lifetime of Memories and a Mother’s Day Blessing
As Mother's Day quickly approaches, I've been taking some time to reflect upon how grateful and blessed I am my for Mother. One of the fondest memories I have of my Mom while growing up, is that she would sit every night in her rocking chair with her Bible, reading God's Word and praying for each one in her family. My Mom was faced with many challenges and had many difficult roads to walk in her life. However, no matter what the situation, she always put the Lord first in her life and leaned on Him during the hard times, she taught myself, and my two older brothers to do the same. In September of 2012, we were saddened by the fact that Mama had received the diagnosis of Alzheimer's. Things are different now, my Mama no longer lives in her own home, but rather an assisted living ... read more
A Legacy of Cherishing Each Moment
Our children are getting older now, they are both in their teens. Time goes by so fast....it seems like yesterday they were playing with Legos, cars, and dolls, and now they are dreaming of their futures and what God has in store for them. This past weekend my son told us he wanted an Easter egg hunt. Little did he know that we would actually follow through with his request. While dad was busy outside hiding the eggs, our son was trying to guess what was going on. When he found out we were have an Easter egg hunt, it was like the clocked turned back in time to when he was a little boy. He was so excited and happy that we had taken the time to do this for him. It was as if we had released his inner child and he was ready to go. When we said, "On your mark get set go," I saw the eyes ... read more
God’s Masterpiece
She slowly moved to the front room of her house, she was tired and worn, the years of fighting cancer had taken it's tole on her body and spirit. She sat in her wicker chair and stared at the canvas that was covered in brush strokes that had been placed there long ago. The rays of the sun warmed her face and made the watermelon red, russet orange, lemon yellow, and brilliant blue paint strokes come alive. As she sat there she felt like the painting was begging her to be made whole, to be transformed into the beautiful masterpiece that it was intended to be. As she picked up the brush, tears ran down her eyes.......tears that had been welled up inside her for years. The tears came from the pain of the many rounds of chemotherapy, radiation, injections, and surgeries that had ravaged ... read more
A Titus 2 Legacy and a Legacy Leaver Thursday Link Up
There are so many types of legacies we can leave. We can leave legacies to our children, family members, friends, and even strangers that God places on our path. One of the most important legacies that we as Christian wives and mothers can leave is that of a Titus 2 Woman. "Then they can urge the younger women to love their husbands and children, to be self-controlled and pure, to be busy at home, to be kind, and to be subject to their husbands, so that no one will malign the word of God." Titus 2:4-5 So many people quote Titus 2 but don't understand what it really means. What is mentorship? The Word of God tells us to come along side one another. We need mature Christians in our life to lift us up and help us. And we are to be there for the younger ones. I'm honored to partner with, ... read more
