‘I’ll Be Home for Christmas”

One fun activity that we were able to participate in this holiday season was our church play called,"I'll Be Home for Christmas." The play was set back during the time of Pearl Harbor in San Francisco. It portayed how a family made it through difficult times by relying on the Lord and remembering what the true meaning of Christmas was really about. The drama cast of "I'll Be Home for Christmas." Aunt Angie, Micky (Daniel), Lil, Grandpa, Sid and Norma. Micky (Daniel) wants to listen to the Lone Ranger on the radio, but Aunt Angie and Grandpa can not stand all of the shoot outs and brawls. Micky (Daniel) pretends that his wooden horse is a microphone as he sings, "Without you, ba, ba, ba, boo." Emily had her first ballet solo as she played the lead ballerina during the song Toy Land. Christmas Blessings From the Miller Family

Christmas is a Time... Christmas is a time that we all hold dear, A time when the seasons change and a crispness can be felt in the cold night air. A time when the moon can be seen glowing brightly as the crystals of snow drift in quite whispers across the sky to the stillness of the earth below. Christmas is a time when precious memories are made, Families will draw near by hearth and home to join in love and laughter, with the Christmas lights shinning so vibrantly in the recollections of times that were shared. Christmas is a time to remember the most precious thing of all, the night when a star shown so brilliantly like a diamond in the sky, upon our precious Saviour and Lord. Lying so humbly in a manager He came for everyone to bring life out of death and the gift of God's mercy ... read more

What Blogging is to Me

Blogging is.... ~something I will do only when I feel led to do so, that could mean, once a week, once a month, or however much I feel led to do, this could mean not at all for long periods of time.~something I will not worry about doing or not doing.~something I will not allow to become an idol to me. ~a wonderful way to express how grateful I am for the blessings God has given me in life. ~a way to look on the positive things in life. ~an amazing form of communication. ~a wonderful way to connect with new and old friends. ~a way to be encouraged by other Christian women who are on the same journey. ~a form of laughter and happiness. ~a way to gain new homeschool ideas. ~a way to express what God has placed upon my heart. ~a way to show love, concern and respect for my family and others ... read more

My favorite season of the year is Autumn. I love the Autumn colors, the lemon yellows, watermelon reds and the list goes on and on. I love the chill in the air, having a cup of Russian tea, picking out pumpkins, making pumpkin spice cookies, hosting Thanksgiving at our house and just spending time with my family. The pictures below are what we have been up to this glorious Autumn season. ... read more

Back in the Saddle Again

Almost two years ago, my little girl,(I know she is 13 and not necessarily little, but she will always be my little girl. Smile) was thrown from a horse during horse co-op. She almost gave her Mother a heart attack, but in the end she was fine. Two weeks after the accident she got back on a horse and the horse stumbled in the arena which caused some fears to surface and made Emily decide that she did not want to ride ride again until yesterday.Yesterday she got up on a very slow and gentle horse named Skeeter. She showed great courage, confidence and determination as she got back in the saddle. The sweet lady in the picture is Miss Janie. This woman is one of the kindest individuals I know. As Emily was mounting the horse she told Emily to remember the verse, "I can do all things who ... read more

In quizzing this year the children at our church are studying the book of Exodus. We had our first quiz meet this past Saturday. Out of our 13 quizzers our A,B,and C team took 1,2,and 3rd place. We were very proud of Daniel on Saturday because he only missed 1 out of 60 questions, which resulted in two perfect rounds. We were also proud of Daniel because of how he dealt with some situations during the day of the quiz. God has been working with Daniel in certain areas of his life and this was made evident in the maturity he showed and the decisions he made on Saturday. Good Job Buddy! You are loved! ... read more

What road are you on?

We have been blessed to have our new pastor and his family at our church for the past month. I gleaned some new thoughts to contemplate from his sermon today about our Christian walks. We have two roads that we can choose as Christians, one is the road that takes us down the path of "What can you do for me?" while the other takes us down the road of "I'll do whatever you ask of me.". Think about what road you are on as you read the following quote.Holy Spirit, I have mistreated you all my Christian life. I have treated you like a servant. When I wanted you, I called for you. When I was about to engage in some work, I beckoned you to come and help me perform my task. I sought to use you in my self-appointed task and work. I shall do so no more. Just now I give you this body of mine from ... read more

If I had the choice of picking to go through this day the answer would have been an outstanding NO. Sometimes days, weeks and even years do not go how we had them planned. I was reading an entry in a wonderful blog tonight called Eyes of Wonder, which can be found by clicking on the link under my favorite blogs. The entry was titled, "The Country Road That Takes Me Home." In it the author describes very eloquently what it means to truly cast our cares on the Lord and turn to him with our worries. I encourage you to read this uplifting message. In the mean time keep me in your prayers that I would be able to practice what was so beautifully written. ... read more
