When the waters of life rage around you. When you feel like you are on an island all alone. If you are facing cancer, another type of sickness, abondonment, depression, lonlieness, finanical burden, remember this....God is always there. He promised in Scripture that He would never leave us nor forsake us. Hold fast to that promise friends. Find solace today by resting in the promises of His word. Psalm 139 "1 You have searched me, LORD, and you know me. 2 You know when I sit and when I rise; you perceive my thoughts from afar. 3 You discern my going out and my lying down; you are familiar with all my ways. 4 Before a word is on my tongue you, LORD, know it completely. 5 You hem me in behind and before, and you lay your hand upon me. 6 Such knowledge is too wonderful for me, too lofty ... read more

While I’m Waiting

My family knows that I am not a person who likes to wait. I'll have to admit it's not a very good quality of mine. As my son and I were driving past a new elementary school, we saw  they had cars lined up in rows of four, about seven to ten deep,  each waiting to pick up their precious children. My heart fell into my stomach, in a panic, as I imagined myself sitting in one of those lines,  already having my children and not being able to get out. I told my son, "I sure wouldn't like that." He said," I know you wouldn't you would probably have a car that turns into a helicopter and fly right out  of there!"  I sighed and laughed, "Yep, I probably would, just like on the Jetsons." I joked.  I am guilty. Guilty of impatience. I do not like to wait in lines. I definitely do not like to wait ... read more

Praise God, from whom all blessings flow; praise him, all creatures here below; praise him above, ye heavenly host; praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost.Amen. Written By~Thomas Ken Looking back into my past I can remember singing the Doxology at the close of many church services. It was always one of my favorite hymns to sing. The reason being is because I could always feel God's presence when we sang it. As you take time to give the Lord praise for this week, I hope you can feel His presence in every sunrise, every smile and laugh, and every joy. This week at A Holy Experience we are counting 1000 gifts in the year 2012. I hope you can join us.205. Birds singing outside my window.206. White fluffy clouds against a blue sky.207. My husband's surprises.208. Fixing my eyes on Jesus.209. ... read more

Fix Your Eyes on Jesus

"2 fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God." Hebrews 12:2 Appearances can be deceiving....the picture above may look like a piece of wood, painted black, with small pieces of stained wood glued on it. It's not.......it's so much more. Look close, very close, and you will see it. It may take a moment, but if you are patient, the piece of wood will be transformed.  It's just like life, when times are hard, when people and things fail us for one reason or another, we need to fix our eyes on what really matters and then our troubles will be transformed right before our eyes. Can you see it? Can you see what matters most?If you've enjoyed your time here ... read more

Little Becomes Much in the Master’s Hands

John 6:5-14 "5 When Jesus looked up and saw a great crowd coming toward him, he said to Philip, “Where shall we buy bread for these people to eat?” 6 He asked this only to test him, for he already had in mind what he was going to do. 7 Philip answered him, “It would take more than half a year’s wages[a] to buy enough bread for each one to have a bite!” 8 Another of his disciples, Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother, spoke up, 9 “Here is a boy with five small barley loaves and two small fish, but how far will they go among so many?” 10 Jesus said, “Have the people sit down.” There was plenty of grass in that place, and they sat down (about five thousand men were there). 11 Jesus then took the loaves, gave thanks, and distributed to those who were seated as much as they wanted. He did the same ... read more

The Key to Freedom

Many of us, myself included, can go through life feeling as if we are bogged down by the storms that surround us. We hold on so tightly to the anguish of yesterday that we are unable to grasp today. Our tomorrows will pass by in a blur because our eyes are fixed on one thing.....the painful hurts that have scorched our souls....that send ripping surges of pain...right to our very core.Yesterday at church,  our Pastor spoke on how God wants us to move past our heartache and achieve freedom in Christ. In Isaiah 43:14-19 the Lord's word states, "The Lord says, 'Forget about what has happened before. Do not think about the past. Instead, look at the new thing I am going to do.'" In reading this, I am reminded that we need to daily refocus our minds and let go of the past, while focusing on ... read more

At the Cross

"Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we will also live with him. For we know that since Christ was raised from the dead, he cannot die again; death no longer has mastery over him. The death he died, he died to sin once for all; but the life he lives, he lives to God. In the same way, count yourselves dead to sin but alive to God in Christ Jesus."  Romans 6:8-11 If you've enjoyed your time here at Leaving A Legacy, please take a moment to like us on Facebook or through Networked Blogs. Silence Turns to Rejoicing

Today I am linking with Gypsy Mama's Five Minute Friday. We take Five minutes to write about a certain word, unedited, whatever comes to your heart. The word for today is light. The mob waited with baited breath. Lots were cast for the clothes of the one who hung on the cross. The air was thick..... as the noon hour crept into view. Tears filled the eyes of the daughters of Jerusalem, who stood below. The soldiers mocking cries pierced the ears of all who were near. Then darkness fell over the land....the Sun shown no more. The hours slowly passed, one, two, at the stroke of  three, the imminent happened. The temple veil was torn in two. He breathed no more. It is finished, just as they said it would be.The sorrow laden women, walked the dusty road to the tomb of their fallen King. The ... read more
