Today I am linking with Gypsy Mama’s Five Minute Friday. We take Five minutes to write about a certain word, unedited, whatever comes to your heart. The word for today is light.
The mob waited with baited breath. Lots were cast for the clothes of the one who hung on the cross. The air was thick….. as the noon hour crept into view. Tears filled the eyes of the daughters of Jerusalem, who stood below. The soldiers mocking cries pierced the ears of all who were near. Then darkness fell over the land….the Sun shown no more. The hours slowly passed, one, two, at the stroke of three, the imminent happened. The temple veil was torn in two. He breathed no more. It is finished, just as they said it would be.
The sorrow laden women, walked the dusty road to the tomb of their fallen King. The stone no longer stood at it’s place of prominence at the entrance to the tomb. Their peering glances, told them their Savior was no longer there. Then their eyes were blinded by the gleaming light. The women fell to the ground, as the angels proclaimed, “He is not here, He is risen just as He said!.”
The darkness of sin no longer rules over the earth. The Light of truth has taken its place. The Light that brings life, and salvation to all who walk in it’s path. The Light that took our place of destiny, that bore our shame and suffering. The Light that broke our chains of death, and gave us rejoicing over our freedom for all eternity.

Amen. The darkness of sin no longer rules. I am so grateful for the Light. His truth has conquered darkness. Once and for all. Beautiful post.
Beautiful blog. Beautiful reminder. Thank you.
Amen!
You write so beautifully – especially with a 5 minute limit. I appreciate how you put your thoughts together. Michelle
Praise God, He is risen!
