~Please take a moment to click on this link and enter~ Leaving A Legacy's Mother's Day Giveaway! God's has been speaking to me lately.......about everything I have been learning, and...um....(head bowed in shame....re-learning). Sometimes I think He must get so upset with me when I sigh and think, "Didn't I just learn that?"  I am so thankful that He is understanding. As long as my heart and mind are in the right place He is patient as I learn and grow. Looking at the old school house in the picture above it makes me wonder what lessons were learned in it's classrooms. Life is like a classroom, one in which we will never graduate from. The problem that I often have in class, is making sure I remember things. It seems as if God teaches me a life lesson, where I am amazed at what I learn, ... read more

~Please take a moment to click  here to read~ A Titus 2 Woman in a Modern Day World~Part 1 The huge wooden door swings open and Sarah slowly steps inside. She sees a few people milling around, and hears music coming from the brightly lit sanctuary. The music fills her with peace. A peace that she has been missing for so long. She shyly moves closer to the ladies that are caught up in conversation about their lives. How she wishes she could be part of that conversation. She wants to tell someone her story.....her story of despair and loneliness. She wants someone to listen and tell her that they care. As she starts to move into the sanctuary she passes the women and hears one of the ladies  murmur to her friend, "On my, look over there." The two ladies look in disdain as Sarah approaches ... read more

With each passing day it's my desire that I grow and mature into the woman God desires me to be. As Christian women God doesn't want us to stay stagnant, but to grow and move forward. Through each season, whether it be the hope of Spring or the dark days of Winter, He always supplies us with opportunities to become more like Him.As I prepare my legacy for my children, I want them to see a Mother that accepts the challenges and changes that God places in my life. Over the past few weeks God has placed the following verses on my heart. These verses are areas where God is challenging me to grow and be different."4 Then they can urge the younger women to love their husbands and children, 5 to be self-controlled and pure, to be busy at home, to be kind, and to be subject to their ... read more

Praise God, from whom all blessings flow; praise him, all creatures here below; praise him above, ye heavenly host; praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost.Amen. Written By~Thomas Ken Looking back into my past I can remember singing the Doxology at the close of many church services. It was always one of my favorite hymns to sing. The reason being is because I could always feel God's presence when we sang it. As you take time to give the Lord praise for this week, I hope you can feel His presence in every sunrise, every smile and laugh, and every joy. This week at A Holy Experience we are counting 1000 gifts in the year 2012. I hope you can join us.205. Birds singing outside my window.206. White fluffy clouds against a blue sky.207. My husband's surprises.208. Fixing my eyes on Jesus.209. ... read more

The Key to Freedom

Many of us, myself included, can go through life feeling as if we are bogged down by the storms that surround us. We hold on so tightly to the anguish of yesterday that we are unable to grasp today. Our tomorrows will pass by in a blur because our eyes are fixed on one thing.....the painful hurts that have scorched our souls....that send ripping surges of pain...right to our very core.Yesterday at church,  our Pastor spoke on how God wants us to move past our heartache and achieve freedom in Christ. In Isaiah 43:14-19 the Lord's word states, "The Lord says, 'Forget about what has happened before. Do not think about the past. Instead, look at the new thing I am going to do.'" In reading this, I am reminded that we need to daily refocus our minds and let go of the past, while focusing on ... read more

Today I am linking with Gypsy Mama's Five Minute Friday. We take Five minutes to write about a certain word, unedited, whatever comes to your heart. The word for today is light. The mob waited with baited breath. Lots were cast for the clothes of the one who hung on the cross. The air was thick..... as the noon hour crept into view. Tears filled the eyes of the daughters of Jerusalem, who stood below. The soldiers mocking cries pierced the ears of all who were near. Then darkness fell over the land....the Sun shown no more. The hours slowly passed, one, two, at the stroke of  three, the imminent happened. The temple veil was torn in two. He breathed no more. It is finished, just as they said it would be.The sorrow laden women, walked the dusty road to the tomb of their fallen King. The ... read more

We’re on the Same Team Complete Story

Nearly a lifetime ago, my husband and I, stood up in front of friends and family, pledging our love and lives to each other. At age twenty-two and twenty-three, we were so young, so excited for the life that was ahead of us. Fast forward twenty years later; here we are…..what a story we can tell. Our tale has two sides. One side includes two children, love, commitment, happiness, memories, laughter and following the Lord. The next side includes, one baby in heaven with Jesus, the death of a parent, a possible Multiple Sclerosis diagnosis, financial difficulties and breast cancer. Not only did breast cancer knock once, but twice, with the second knock being that of a stage IV diagnosis. Put this all together and it can create a recipe….a recipe for growth and learning, or……. a recipe for ... read more
