Those eyes see everything. They're always watching every move you make. What type of things are you teaching your children? What type of character are you displaying to them? Do you practice what you preach? Do your words and actions match? We need to "live out loud " our relationship with the Lord. God's word states that, “Only take care, and keep your soul diligently, lest you forget the things that your eyes have seen, and lest they depart from your heart all the days of your life. Make them known to your children and your children’s children." Deuteronomy 4:9It is our responsibility to teach our children in the ways of the Lord, to create a spiritual legacy that lasts from generation to generation. God does not want us to act one way in public and then another at home. "15 I know ... read more

The Beauty of Scars
Most anyone who is a cancer survivor has scars. Both emotional and physical. Seen and unseen. Scars that have changed the lives of both themselves and family members. Scars that have opened up paths that many would have never choosen to be on. I know this has rung true in my life. What about you? We all have scars of one sort or another. We all have a story to tell. Stories of trials and suffering that have created us into new beings, that have made us the essence of who we are. I often wonder who I would be without my scars. Would I be as stong, or as determined? Probably not. Would I be happier? Would life be easier? Maybe. But, here's the thing......without the scars I wouldn't be me. The me who God is molding me into. The Legacy of Listening and Legacy Leaver Thursdays
On June 7th, 1996 I said good bye to one of the most important people in my life.....my Daddy. I miss him. Alot. He was a very smart man that could do, fix, or build just about anything. I always used to put my hand in his just to compare the difference in sizes. His hand was weathered with age, from years of hard work on the wheat farms in Kansas, working on cars, and working as an electrician on elevators. The most important thing that I remember about my Dad is that he always listened to me. He looked me square in the eye when I was talking, and made me feel like I was the most important person in the world as I shared my heart with him. When was the last time your childen wanted your attention? When did those little hands pull on your fingers because they had an important tale to ... read more
The Legacy of Discipline
God had been speaking to me lately about an area I need to work on , discipline. I need to make sure I live a life of intentional living, being disciplined to follow through on the tasks that He has laid before me. This involves seeking God in His word and through prayer, asking Him how He wants me to live my life. "Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you." Matthew 7:7It's about obeying what He tells me to do. It involves setting goals and plans to accomplish His will for my life. It's about, "sticking to it", whether I feel like it or not. Pushing aside selfish desires and thoughts, so that He might be glorified. In being disciplined to the things of God, so many things can get accompished. A very important one is being able to set ... read more
