God had been speaking to me lately about an area I need to work on , discipline. I need to make sure I live a life of intentional living, being disciplined to follow through on the tasks that He has laid before me.
This involves seeking God in His word and through prayer, asking Him how He wants me to live my life. “Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.” Matthew 7:7
It’s about obeying what He tells me to do. It involves setting goals and plans to accomplish His will for my life. It’s about, “sticking to it”, whether I feel like it or not. Pushing aside selfish desires and thoughts, so that He might be glorified.
In being disciplined to the things of God, so many things can get accompished. A very important one is being able to set an example to little eyes that are watching. I don’t want to be a stumbling block to my children because of my bad habbits. I want to teach them to run the race that’s set before them with discipline and a joyful heart. I want to instill in them good habits now, that will benifit the outcome of their futures.
“Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? B)’> in such a way as to get the prize.” 1 Corinthians 9:24
In what ways are you teaching your children to be disciplined followers of Christ?

“Pushing aside selfish desires and thoughts, so that He might be glorified.” Shari, I’ve been challenged by this as well recently. Thank you.
Your welcome. Thank you for stopping by!
Shari
Shari, this is an excellent post. My word for the year is intentional. God wants me to live on purpose. But I so struggle with that. Disciplinary for me is a big thing, I can get so lazy with things or disobedience when God speaks to me. Thank you for this encouragement!
Bless you.
Pushing aside selfish desires is so hard, but so necessary if we’re to allow Christ to fill us so there is less of us and more of Him. Thank you for sharing! All the best!
