As I was making lunch this week, I found myself in the kitchen with my ipod on listening to some wonderful music. The song I was listening to was called , “Our God Is In Control”, by Steven Curtis Chapman. While I was listening to this, I found myself raising my hands in worship to our Father. In the middle of my kitchen there I was, along with His angels, offering praise to the King. Carefully read the lyrics and see if you can relate them to a stage you might be going through in your life.
This is not how it should be
This is not how it could be
But this is how it is
And our God is in control
This is not how it will be
When we finally will see
We’ll see with our own eyes
He was always in control
And we’ll sing holy, holy, holy is our God
And we will finally really understand what it means
So we’ll sing holy, holy, holy is our God
While we’re waiting for that day
This is not where we planned to be
When we started this journey
But this is where we are
And our God is in control
Though this first taste is bitter
There will be sweetness forever
When we finally taste and see
That our God is in control
And we’ll sing holy, holy, holy is our God
And we will finally really understand what it means
So we’ll sing holy, holy, holy is our God
While we’re waiting for that day
We’re waiting for that day
We’ll keep on waiting for that day
And we will know
Our God is in control
(Holy, holy, holy) x2
Our God is in control
(Holy, holy, holy)
Our God is in control
(Holy, holy, holy)
A times our lives can seem out of control as we face difficult circumstances. It may be that our vision is clouded by our troubles. No matter how much we would like to take of our lives into our own power, to make it perfect, to make it without pain or suffering, there are some things we just can’t change. We don’t know the outcome of our lives, but one thing we do know is that God has us in His hands. Worshiping the Father and offering praise unto Him, takes the focus of of ourselves and onto His goodness. That’s when things change…..when we make our relationship with Him…..what matters most of all. Take a moment to listen to the song, spend time today worshiping Him and giving Him the praise and adoration He deserves. We do not have to worry about today, or tomorrow because God is in control.
