It’s the summer before her last year of high school and this Mama is a bit nervous. Can she really be this old? It’s seems like yesterday she was wearing her mint green, polka dotted,Winnie the Pooh outfit and toddling between her Daddy and I taking her first steps.
A few weeks ago she told me that she will be a senior soon. My sigh must have been loader than I thought because she soon replied, “Don’t worry Mama, I’ll always be your baby.” Gulp…..hold back the tears. Where does the time go? You turn around and she is no longer playing with American Girl dolls, but rather applying for college scholarships and dreaming big dreams.
Oh, to be young like her and be at the starting line, ready for anything. As the gun will soon fire with a deafening bang…….off she’ll go. Off on her own adventure, on her own path, ready to face whatever comes her way. With the foundation that has been laid for her, I’m sure the path she chooses will be one that God leads her on every step of the way, through the good and bad alike. As long as the path always leads back to home, this Mama will be just fine……
