I look at my own life as a book. Within my book of life there are many chapters, childhood, being a teenager, college, marriage, children and the list goes on. I would consider myself to be towards the middle of my book, buried deep into a chapter that can be very hard to read and understand…… it is my chapter of faith.
As I walk the path of being a breast cancer survivor, I am currently elbow deep into learning what faith means. It’s so easy to say the word, but another thing to truly know it and believe it. I’ve had many chances to learn faith. Chances that have brought me down on my knees in prayer with tears rolling down my eyes, hands gripping tightly to my worn Bible as the word ,”Why?” was the only thing I could utter.
I know that all of our chapters read differently. We have all asked the question of, “Why?”, to one circumstance or another. We may have even had arguments with God going something on the lines of….”I don’t think so, this really wasn’t how it was supposed to be.” That’s when God steps in and says, “Why don’t you trust me? When will you realize that I am BIGGER than any problem you could ever imagine?”
Friends…..God is bigger than anything. Bigger than financial troubles, bigger than problems with family and bigger than any type of sickness. Sometimes, it takes a lot of trudging through life to figure this out as the storms that come our way mold our vessels into new beings.
Often I wonder why the lesson of faith is a hard, ongoing lesson to learn. I think with age and the weathering of our souls it becomes easier. What I have realized is to never let go of what I have learned during these hard times. There are times when I sure wish I could see the outcome with out having to go through the unknown. The lessons that I have learned make the unknown more bearable and increase my faith in the unseen.
“We live by faith, not by sight.” ~ 2 Corinthians 5:7
I have learned throughout time that the Lord loves me more than I could imagine, and the unseen things become much easier to take when I accept that His ways are the right ways. What chapter are you in currently? Trust Him with each turn of the page, His love for you is written on each and every line. Drink in His sweet words and enjoy the life He meant you to live and share His love with your children and the generations to come.
Many Blessings~
