At one point or another we each go through various trials in our lives. …. moments where we feel weakness. These times of weakness can come when we hear the diagnoses of cancer, the loss of a job, not having enough income, wondering how the next bill will get paid, a lack of peace within the family. When we go to through these trials we can get to a point where we feel as if there is no way out. We see people in the Bible from Joseph to Peter who suffered for the Lord’s sake, so that a greater good might come. The Bible tells us that our faith will go through times of testing…
“So that the tested genuineness of your faith—more precious than gold that perishes though it is tested by fire—may be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ.”
~1 Peter 1 :7
How we handle these trials is what matters. How we handle them sets and example to our children, family and friends. We want these times to bring praise and glory to Jesus. We don’t want to be a stumbling block to others during times of sorrow and despair. Be careful that your actions and sufferings don’t hurt or hinder the Christian walk of others around you.
“Therefore let us stop passing judgement on one another. Instead, make up your mind not to put any stumbling block or obstacle in your brothers way.” ~Romans 14:13
We need to go to the Lord during our times of weakness and pray fervently to Him, for strength, wisdom and guidance. Let your children see you spending time on your knees, seeking His will. Set and example for them through these actions. Show them how to have a relationship with Jesus. In this way His name might be glorified.
Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.” James 5:16
Spend time with our Father today. He will uplift you from your darkest valleys, and make you strong in His power and might.
