The word for 5 minute Friday is Real….
Real is life…. the good, the bad, and the ugly. Real is the laughter, joys and tears all rolled up into what makes us who we are.
For me real is the many things that give my life shape and meaning. Real is waking up every morning with the Lord by my side ready to face a new day. Real is getting my daughter off to school, while talking about what the Lord is showing us in the Bible study we are doing together. Real is coming back home and helping my son with his studies. Real is the laughter in the kitchen as we try out a new recipe together. Real are the doctor appointments that I go to in the afternoon. Real is welcoming my husband home at the garage door with a kiss and a smile, thankful to have my best friend hold me in his arms once again. Real is helping my daughter with her homework for AP Government and seeing the smile beam across her face when I tell her what a good job she has done and how proud I am of her.
Real is not in all the makeup that covers the reality, of what hides behind the faces of celebrities. Real is in the here and now, living life to its fullest, unmasked, and unedited moving forwards to see what lies around the next bend.
Today I am linking up with the Gypsy Mama’s 5 Minute Friday. For 5 minutes you let words flow freely and just write whatever comes to your mind and heart. Write without worrying about the finished outcome, unscripted and unedited. Take a moment to visit Gypsy Mama’s blog and be amazed at the thought provoking passages that are created in such a short amount of time.
