“2 fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.” Hebrews 12:2
Appearances can be deceiving….the picture above may look like a piece of wood, painted black, with small pieces of stained wood glued on it. It’s not…….it’s so much more. Look close, very close, and you will see it. It may take a moment, but if you are patient, the piece of wood will be transformed. It’s just like life, when times are hard, when people and things fail us for one reason or another, we need to fix our eyes on what really matters and then our troubles will be transformed right before our eyes.
Can you see it? Can you see what matters most?

My kids each have a picture like the one above. Great lesson here, Shari.
AMEN! Thank you 🙂
Some days I can see that as clear as day, and other times it looks like a block with a bunch of sticks on it. Literally, and figuratively. I like when it’s transformed – when I’M transformed – right before my eyes!
Thank you friends. 🙂
I’ve seen this so often… but every time my eyes and brain have to adjust and readjust. So creative. Love it.
Forward focused… thanks for the reminder!
Ok, well, I must be tired. I don’t see anything. I am nursing a pretty nasty head cold though so perhaps my vision is cloudy. When I can’t see, no matter why the reason, I must fix my eyes on Jesus. Learning to see through His eyes. Enlighten me about the picture please!
Barbie~ If you look in-between the stained pieces of wood, you’ll see the word Jesus.
Hi Shari, I followed you from my blog. I just read through this post and am so blessed to have found your blog. Thank you so much for stopping to say hi so that I would find you. He was leading me to your blog 🙂 Such a sweet post!
Blessings to you, my new friend.
visiting from Here to Find Him
How fun to discover that you know my sister, Sue. She was just here visiting us in Chicago. She is a darling. I have her cancer story on my blog.
Fondly,
Glenda
I really like this — and the principle it illustrates for me: When we try too hard, it’s more difficult to see anything. But when we just rest in Him and gaze on Him, what we need to see happens. Thanks and God bless you.
Yes, fix our eyes on Him the author and perfector of our faith
Oh this was so neat. Love it…
Hope your day is blessed♥
I remember seeing a wood piece like this at the church we went to when I was younger. I don’t think I’ve seen another one since, until today! 🙂
