Do you ever have times in your life when the voices of doubt and discouragement tap you on the shoulder just a little harder, trying desperately to get you to listen to them? They whisper words of, "See I told you so!", or "This just isn't your day is it?", or "Come on tell them what you're really thinking.....you know they have it coming to them. They deserve it!". These voices seem to come whenever their heart desires, trying to catch you off guard just waiting to see what you will do . Will you follow the Lord's way or cave and give into the flesh and follow your own way? Sometimes it's such a hard decision to make, especially with the current state of the world. It is so easy to react to all that's going on. Without even thinking, it only takes a split second to let the words come ... read more
Review ~ How to Strengthen Your Child’s Faith at Christmas
Christmas is one of my favorite times of the year. I love the sights and sounds of Christmas. The bright lights twinkling on the trees, the decorations hung just so, the snow falling softly on the ground and the smells of cookies coming from the kitchen, as family gathers near. The main thing that I love most about Christmas is, it's the time of year that we get to celebrate our Savior's birth. It can be so easy to get sidetracked at Christmas, with the holiday shopping and the to do lists that are a mile long, that we loose focus of the true meaning of Christmas. I have recently found an amazing e-book that will help keep the focus of Christmas where it should be, it's called, "How to Strengthen Your Child's Faith at Christmas," by Jolene Engle. You can find Jolene sharing her words of ... read more
The Why Behind Leaving A Legacy
I wanted to take a moment to share with you the "why" behind Leaving A Legacy for those of you who are new here, or for those of you who may not of heard this story before..... On September 3, 2003, I heard the words that no woman ever wants to hear, "You have breast cancer." Those words are enough to make your heart drop to the pit of your stomach and cause your breathing to stop. It's a life altering moment, a door that you walk through that you can never turn around and walk out of again. God has always been with me on this journey, through all my treatments and surgeries, always holding my hand, always giving me strength to make it through another day. In 2007, I felt God call me to speak about my story and then a year later to write about it through blogging. I felt the Lord speak ... read more
You are God’s Treasure!
I'm so happy to have our featured blogger for the month of October guest posting for us today. Please welcome my dear friend Jenifer from Sweet Blessings . Please take a moment today to stop by and visit her wonderful blog! Do you ever feel as though you are just not enough? Oh my friend, I think we have all had that feeling. The world tells us that we must achieve perfection. If we do not achieve this perfection, we fail. If we do not do things just right, we are not good enough. If we do not look a certain way, we are not loved. However, the world's idea of perfection is a little tainted. The world's idea of perfection says that we must be thin with a large bust, not have wrinkles from age or laughter, and that we must dress with a style only approved by the world. We should be ... read more
Beautiful Things Come in Small Packages
To enter The Ultimate Kitchen Aid Mixer Giveaway, please click HERE. God made each of us different and unique on purpose to do His will. God gives some bigger ministries and responsibility and He gives some smaller ministries and areas of responsibility. The size does not make one more important than the other. Are you a small? There are two types of smalls. One where God created you to be that way, and another where the father of lies tries to knock on the door of your soul and tell you that you don't matter. It can be very easy to confuse the two. Being a small is not a bad thing if that's what God created you to be. Being a small is a bad thing if it's because satan is trying to wear away at your heart and cause self doubt. When satan tries to jump into the picture, and make his ... read more
A Legacy of Loving Jesus and a Link Up
To enter The Ultimate Kitchen Aid Mixer Giveaway, please click HERE. Years from now when my grandchildren look at the black and white pictures of their grandmother, the main thing I want them to say about me is, "Above all else, she loved Jesus." A legacy of loving Jesus, is what I want my legacy to be. There is nothing else that matters more than having a personal relationship with our Savior. A relationship with God that is so intertwined with every ounce of my being that I can't survive without it. Do you have that kind of relationship with the Savior? I will admit that my relationship isn't always this way. So many times my foolish pride gets in the way, and I'm blindsided by self and fail. However my heart holds true to the promises found in Philippians 3:14, "I press on ... read more
Leaving A Legacy in a Single Woman’s Life
I am honored to have Brenda from Triple Braided guest posting for us today on the importance of leaving a legacy in a single woman's life. Please take a moment to stop by and visit her and learn more about her new book Fall for Him: 25 Challenges from a Recovering Single. You will be so glad you did! When you were young, say in your late teen years or early twenties, maybe even older, did you have a woman who came alongside you to "show you the ropes"? If you were fortunate your mom fulfilled this role, but let's pretend she didn't. Was there another woman who helped you prepare for marriage and life and family? When we think about leaving a legacy, we most often think about leaving a legacy for our children. There is no doubt that this is the most obvious and important place that we ... read more
A Legacy of Hope in Jesus and a Link Up
Please click HERE to enter The Ultimate Kitchen Aid Mixer Giveaway! What type of individuals do you like to be around? Someone who has a downcast spirit or someone who puts their hope in God? "Why are you downcast, O my soul? Why so disturbed within me? Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise him, my Savior and my God." ~Psalm 43:5 Have you ever noticed that it's easy to pick up some of the same type of attitudes of those you're around? This is easy for our children to do as well. They're imitators of all that we say and do. "Be imitators of God, therefore, as dearly loved children." ~ Ephesians 5:1 We need to be imitators of God, so our children can do like wise. The world already has enough dissension and turmoil. It's time to get back to the basics. As Christian ... read more

A Legacy of Perseverance and a Link Up
What's the first word that comes to your mind when you see the picture above? The word I first think of is perseverance. I can hardly imagine the sacrifice the brave young man must have gone through for our country, and the courage, determination, and perseverance that it takes for him to get through each day. This is the type of perseverance that I want for my children. I want them to know that life will be full of things that they have never excepted and it will take reaching to the depths of their being to search for the strength to make it through. This type of character is not something that were born with, but rather, it's something that is learned through the hard and somewhat tough lessons of life. In our family, we always say,"You need to finish what you start. "Stopping ... read more
