Christmas is one of my favorite times of the year. I love the sights and sounds of Christmas. The bright lights twinkling on the trees, the decorations hung just so, the snow falling softly on the ground and the smells of cookies coming from the kitchen, as family gathers near. The main thing that I love most about Christmas is, it's the time of year that we get to celebrate our Savior's birth. It can be so easy to get sidetracked at Christmas, with the holiday shopping and the to do lists that are a mile long, that we loose focus of the true meaning of Christmas. I have recently found an amazing e-book that will help keep the focus of Christmas where it should be, it's called, "How to Strengthen Your Child's Faith at Christmas," by Jolene Engle. You can find Jolene sharing her words of ... read more
You are God’s Treasure!
I'm so happy to have our featured blogger for the month of October guest posting for us today. Please welcome my dear friend Jenifer from Sweet Blessings . Please take a moment today to stop by and visit her wonderful blog! Do you ever feel as though you are just not enough? Oh my friend, I think we have all had that feeling. The world tells us that we must achieve perfection. If we do not achieve this perfection, we fail. If we do not do things just right, we are not good enough. If we do not look a certain way, we are not loved. However, the world's idea of perfection is a little tainted. The world's idea of perfection says that we must be thin with a large bust, not have wrinkles from age or laughter, and that we must dress with a style only approved by the world. We should be ... read more

Your Latter Will Be Greater
Today I have the privilege of introducing you to Leaving A Legacy's featured blogger for the month of August, Deidra from The Middle - Daily Devotion Blog. Deidra has a love for the Lord and a beautiful way of sharing words straight from her soul that will challenge you to mature and grow . Please stop by and visit her blog, you'll enjoy her style of writing as it draws your heart closer to Jesus. It’s almost strange to look at this sign now—it seems like the punch line of a joke or part of the lyrics to a bad country song—but it’s a real place way down in south Georgia; it’s where I’m from. I grew up on Lonesome Road, not far from this intersection. And although I never really thought about it much in my younger years, now that I’m older, I more fully appreciate the significance of this ... read more
Counting God’s Blessings, a Review and a Giveaway
Mondays are days for writing down God's blessings. Our minds can not think of two things at the same time, so when you get discouraged by life and the events of the day, choose to think on God's blessings instead of your worries. When we put our focus on Jesus our whole world changes. We are counting 1000 blessings at a Holy Experience in 2012, won't you join us and see what a difference it makes. 436. Watching the USA women's gymnastic team win the gold medal. 437. Watching USA women's gymnastics team member Gabby Douglas win gold in the all around and giving all the praise to God because of it. 438. God's grace to cling to through the storms of life. 439. It’s Time to Get off the Fence
"So, because you are lukewarm, neither hot nor cold, I am about to spit you out of my mouth."Revelations 3:16 Are you living 100% sold out for Jesus Christ? If strangers saw you in public would they know there was something different about you? If not, it's time for a change. It's time to get off the fence and give your all to Jesus. We all need to be a living example for Christ. Not someone who is stuck in sinful nature following the ways of the world. There is no excuse, if we are going to wear the name of Christian, we need to act like one. It's time to ask yourself the questions, "What example am I setting for my children? Do my words and actions match?" It's time to live a life for Him, to be a light for others as well as your children. In doing so you will teach your children to ... read more
He Has Made me Glad!
"I will enter his gates with Thanksgiving in my heart. I will enter His courts with praise! I will say this is the day that the Lord had made, I will rejoice for he has made me glad! He has made me glad! He had made me glad! I will rejoice for he had made me glad!" ~L. Von Brethorst I love this song, it brings back memories of my youth, of days when I was in high school and youth group. Moving ahead a lifetime, it's a song that still bring joy to my heart when I worship Him. When times are hard, we need to make the choice to rejoice instead of worry, sing His praises instead of complain about hardships. Do you choose to be glad instead of unhappy? Start singing his praises and watch your life turn around. This year we are counting 1000 gifts at a Holy Experience. Please take a ... read more
Enough of this World
As the Sun sets and quiets the day with it's watermelon reds, brilliant oranges and breathtaking yellows, a sigh leaves my lips and I breath deep. My thoughts race as my mind replays the snapshots of the day screen by screen. My heart yearns for something more, something this world can't satisfy. Sometimes I've had enough of this world... Enough of the doctor's appointments, Enough of the what ifs, Enough of the have to do this or that, Enough of the noise, Enough of the hurry, Enough of the I should of done it differently, Enough of the selfishness, The things of this world will never fulfill what my soul desires... JESUS. He's more than enough to meet my every need. He's the one that takes away the sting of defeat the world leaves. As I'm reminded of His goodness and grace, I ... read more
Turning Back the Pages of Time
I often wish I could travel back in time to see what things were like when my parents first got married. I would love to see where they lived, what they believed, and what the world was like back then.I’m going to give you a chance to travel back in time and see the story unfold for my husband and me almost 21 years ago.Every person’s life is like a book, with each stage in life being a chapter. Let me turn back the pages of time, to chapter one, the beginning of our book, of our story. The year was 1991, the Internet had not yet been invented, cell phones were unheard of and Walkman’s were the rage. I was a young girl of 22, with blond hair and green eyes, looking straight to the future and all it had to offer. I was working at clothing store, while finishing up my social work ... read more
