God made each of us different and unique on purpose to do His will. God gives some bigger ministries and responsibility and He gives some smaller ministries and areas of responsibility. The size does not make one more important than the other.

Are you a small? There are two types of smalls. One where God created you to be that way, and another where the father of lies tries to knock on the door of your soul and tell you that you don’t matter. It can be very easy to confuse the two. Being a small is not a bad thing if that’s what God created you to be. Being a small is a bad thing if it’s because satan is trying to wear away at your heart and cause self doubt.

When satan tries to jump into the picture, and make his presence known, that feeling of smallness comes from that little voice inside your head that tries to make you compare yourself to others. It quietly whispers in a voice that you can barely hear, “You will never be like so and so, you just don’t measure up.” Don’t believe him. Stand in the truth that’s embedded in your heart. Take control of your emotions through the power of Jesus Christ. Cling to the promises found in His word when these attacks come at you with hurricane force winds, tell the voice it’s not going to win because you have a firm foundation in God.

If God created you to be this way, realize that what may appear to be very small in your eyes, is actually very grand in the Father’s and not small to Him at all. Beautiful and magnificent things can come in the smallest of packages.

In following His call we may think that in helping only one we are failing. But, in reality helping the one was His plan for us all along. Jesus cares for the one and doesn’t want the one to be lost. Don’t try to put your plans for your life in place of God’s. He has you where you’re at for a reason.

“Suppose one of you has a hundred sheep and loses one of them. Does he not leave the ninety-nine in the open country and go after the lost sheep until he finds it” ~ Luke 15:4

We also need to make sure that we don’t miss out on the beauty of the smalls that are around us. Just because someone may not be doing something on a grand scale in their life doesn’t make them any less important. This can ring true in our personal lives right into the world of blogging. Let’s take the time to support and love on another who are walking along the same path, don’t dismiss them because what their doing may not seem like the norm or the most important. Take a second look, maybe what you see in the next glance is what the Father has been trying to teach you all along.

30 Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’ 31 The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no commandment greater than these.” ~ Mark 12:30-31

Just like flower above could be quickly overlooked as insignificant because of it’s stature, it is really quite beautiful when one takes the time to look. Take another glance around you, God’s grace and beauty is everywhere even in the places you might least expect, just open your eyes and take the time to truly see. Take the time to share this knowledge with your children. Let them know that no matter where there at in life and no matter how insignificant it might seem, as long as their at the center of God’s will they are in the best place they could be.

It’s such a privilege to honor Christ with my praise and continue to count my blessings in 2012 at A Holy Experience. Please take a moment to join us.

Beautiful. I love how you compared it to a small flower. If we only take time to pause, look around, and take things in from His perspective

I think your point about 2 kinds of small is so important. One, recognizing our place in relation to God, and 2 when Satan tries to deem us as something we are not. So many times, too, we neglect to see the beauty that God has given us in ourselves.

Thank you for stopping by today Jen. True, it is easy to miss the beauty and focus on the negative. We just need to slow down a little bit more and keep our eyes on Him and not things of this world!

      Blessings~

Yes, being small (and I am-at 5’2″) is definitely not a bad thing when you are in God’s will. I have to constantly fight those lies that tell me that I am not good enough. Great post.

Hi Sheri; visiting your link from Tracy’s blog! 🙂 Great post; I think for many of us, negative thoughts and doubts about who we are, what we have done, or what we haven’t done, can cloud the image we have of ourselves and hold us back from living out loud and recognizing our distinctive personalities. We need to live our life with a purpose, utilize our full potential, and rejoice in who God made us to be!! 🙂 🙂

    Blessings and love,
    Denise
