I’m so happy to have our featured blogger for the month of October guest posting for us today. Please welcome my dear friend Jenifer from
Sweet Blessings . Please take a moment today to stop by and visit her wonderful blog!
Do you ever feel as though you are just not enough? Oh my friend, I think we have all had that feeling.
The world tells us that we must achieve perfection. If we do not achieve this perfection, we fail. If we do not do things just right, we are not good enough. If we do not look a certain way, we are not loved.
However, the world’s idea of perfection is a little tainted. The world’s idea of perfection says that we must be thin with a large bust, not have wrinkles from age or laughter, and that we must dress with a style only approved by the world. We should be a good cook, great housekeeper and be crafty. According to the world, we should make a so much money with a hefty savings account. The world sets expectations of us that seem unreachable.
Have you ever gone to the park with the kids and there she is. She is pushing her child in the swing yet looks like she just stepped off the cover of a magazine. You over hear her talking about a delicious and perfect dinner waiting at home and some exciting thing they are doing this week. You suddenly feel inadequate as a mother and wife as you look down at your jeans and tennis shoes as your children run around with lunch stains still on their shirts. And dinner hasn’t even crossed your mind yet. Satan whispers that you will never be good enough.
You go to church on Sunday and there is the perfect couple again. Holding hands and smiling. As the minister speaks, they share a Bible while his arm is draped lovingly around her shoulders and you can tell this is a normal thing for them. You suddenly feel as though your marriage is not good enough. Satan whispers that your husband doesn’t love you and you will never be a good wife.
You are reading through a favorite blog and see that she has a large number of comments that go perfectly with her large number of followers. Her words are so eloquent and you feel as though you are crazy to be blogging. Satan whispers that your message is nothing and that you shouldn’t even waste your time.
Have you ever been there? Been in a place where you feel like a failure? Feel like no one cares and no one loves you?
Friend, I am here to tell you that is the farthest thing from the truth. The truth is that God loves you. To Him, you are a treasure. To Him, you are precious and beautiful. To Him, you are worth dying for. He loves you, really loves you. Hear me now. Satan is the father of lies. He is lying to you when he whispers. Never are his whispers truths. The Word tells us that Satan comes to kill, steal and destroy {John 10:10} and every time he whispers to you that is what he is trying to do, to destroy you.
It does not matter what your dress size is, how long your hair is, how much money is in the bank, how many dinners you make from scratch, if your car hasn’t been washed in months or if you woke up late this morning. God still loves you. You are His precious and chosen one. He created you, yes YOU, on purpose for a purpose. God really does love you. Never forget that.
Sweet Blessings~
