“The Lord said, ‘I have indeed seen the misery of my people in Egypt…So, now go. I am sending you to Pharaoh to bring my people the Israelites out of Egypt.'”
Once God states His request, we can see that Moses is afraid about what he is being asked to do. In fear, how many times does Moses refuse God? Not once, not twice, not three times, but FOUR times! Finally after four times, God states that He will send Aaron to speak for him. Moses agrees, probably not willingly, but he goes.
How often are we like Moses? How often do we ignore God’s words, and still go off on our own? How many times have we said no to God? Our Pastor gave us some questions to think about……
1. Is God directing you to do something that seems really hard to do?
2. Are you resisting that direction, and if so, why?
3. Will you submit to God’s direction for your life?
This is definitely an area God has been working with me on. I want to be obedient the first time God asks me to do something. I challenge you to say yes to God this week. Yes to God amidst crying babies, laundry, floors to wash, bills to pay, homework to correct, and dinner to cook. Don’t miss out on the blessings He has for your life. Be bold, have confidence and say yes, to God’s call.

Yes, Your post is encouraging. I have been writing blogs for two years and my collection of stories from my childhood are being collected so I can write a book for my children.
By the way I love the photo of your parents and grandparents both sides. The one of Peasters reminds me of my parents wedding photo.
Thank you so much for your kind words. Your book sounds exciting!
Hi Shari 🙂 Obedience to God has always been a challenge to me. And yes, fear is most of the time the reason for my disobedience. I’m reflecting on the first question: Is God directing you to do something that seems really hard to do? And it makes me think – God wouldn’t really give us something He thinks we can’t do, would He? This being my reflection, I am hoping that I will be able to apply this in my everyday life and grow in obedience to God.
Thank you so much for blessing me with your post, Shari! Take care and God bless! 🙂
Thank you for your comment. I agree, God will never give us anything that we can’t handle. I will be joining you on that journey of obedience. Many blessings!
What a beautiful picture! This was a wonderful post for me to read on a Monday morning. Thank you 🙂

Thank you so much for visiting today!
my family is being very much led by God in a direction we would never have seen. We are trying very hard to be obedient.
I will keep you and your family in my prayers.
Shari, love your list today! So beautiful. And love the encouragement to say yes to God. This is something God has been working with me on.
Thank you friend!
Love your list…it brought so many of my own memories to mind so I could be thankful for them all over again. Your blog is lovely. I like the pictures of the earlier generations of your family in the sidebar. It’s good to know where we came from.
Thank you for visiting my blog yesterday and leaving the nice comment. 🙂
When God told me to write, I whined for a week saying I couldn’t do it before giving in. When He told me to step out into the homeless community, I whined saying I couldn’t do it. I’ve learned I cannot do it on my own, but with HIM all things are possible! 🙂 I pray I won’t whine next time He tells me something!
Your list makes me smile 🙂 Being thankful is so good for the soul!
Shari, Thanks so much for visiting my blog today. You are always welcome. I love your list of things you are grateful for. And obeying the first time … hmmm … I must get some more practice.
I’m stopping in late from a Monday blog hop and am so glad I did! Thanks for this inspirational post. Many blessings!
