The Lord has been speaking to me this past weekend…..come and listen in on our conversation….
Friday…..
Me~”Thank you God for my good test results at the doctor this past week.”
God~”You’re welcome. Now it’s time for you to be baptized, and tell others what I have done for you.”
Me~”Ummm…….well, ok. I did promise You that I would tell about everything You have done for me, whenever an opportunity presented itself.”
Sunday morning……
Me~”Well, I don’t know about this baptism thing…you know I don’t like to talk in front of people. Are you sure this is what you want me to do God?”
Sunday church service….me sitting in the pew….
Me~”Ok, there is Pastor Bill…I will have to talk to him after church to see if they are having a baptismal service anytime soon. I bet they won’t be.”
Me….opening the church bulletin…..scanning….scanning ….down towards the bottom it reads……(wait for it…)
Interested In Being Baptized?
Sunday, April 1 at the end of the 9:00 a.m. service there will be a baptism service. If you are interested in baptism please fill out the Information card in the pew rack, mark it “baptism” and place it in the offering plate.
Well then……
Me~”Are you sure God?” (I know it takes me a little bit.)
Right as I spoke these words to the Lord, the pastor started his sermon on how God called Abram out of his comfort zone, called him to go on a journey with God. He read from Genesis 12:1-20 and then spoke these words…..
Pastor Bill~”God said to Abram , get up it’s time for us to go some where.”
Me~”Ok, God. I’ll be baptized. I’ll get up and go on this journey with you. This journey outside my comfort zone, in order that I might praise You, and tell about the great things You have done.”
Into the offering plate my card went stating my request to be baptized. So, now I prepare to give my testimony of how the Lord has been with me, and seen me through every step of my life.
What journey is God calling you on? Are you willing to listen? If you fail to listen to God, and choose not to go into the direction He is calling you, you just might miss out on the best things He has planned for your life. Don’t miss out….. choose to go on the journey He is inviting you on.

thank you for offering these inspirational and uplifting books. Please include me. Im glad and thankful you got good test results…each step is a huge success isnt it? I got good scan results last week also..such a journey we have. Oh and I will leave this comment as well as like on facebook!
I have to add I made your recipe this past saturday of mongolian beef, we loved it. It has a very similar flavor to my husbands mothers 30+ year recipe for pepper steak. this was much easier to make though.
Dawn~Yipee for good scan results! I’m glad you liked the recipe. Have a wonderful week!
What a sweet testimony! 🙂
I’m so glad to hear you got a good report! What a blessing! And what a sweet exchange between you and the Lord!
I love how God gets our attention! I was baptized as a child but felt like I needed to be re-baptized last year after rededicating my life to God and learning what it really means to have a relationship with Him. I gave my testimony when I was baptized. I am so shy and quiet and was a nervous wreck, but I wanted to say yes to God. What a blessed thing it was!!
Praise God, keep on listening sweety.
Your conversations with God make me smile. They sound a lot like mine, with that bit of indecision and fear coming from my end. 🙂
You are so right about failing to listen and how we miss out. So often we let fear rule what we do, and we do not even realize the abundance He had waiting for us around the corner, all those unwrapped gifts that are there.
I have spent the last year concentrating on letting go of fear and just following (follow, as it turns out, is my OneWord for this year…). What joy and fulfillment that brings, and what adventures too!
Congratulations on moving forward with your baptism. Don’t you just love how God speaks to us through others?
I will be praying for you on April 1st as you follow through in believer’s baptism!
What an inspiration you are in your example of listening to God, Shari! I’m praying right now that God will shine his light into your words at your baptism, so that your story may serve to inspire others in their faith.
Grateful for your contribution to the Hear It, Use It community this week – welcome friend! {and praising God for your 34 tumor marker results!!}
Thank you for that wonderful giveaway. Blessings ~
